Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology Peru

Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology Peru

This is the country’s first and largest museum in Peru. It is well known for the fact that it shows many artifacts of Peruvian culture and history. Although much of the museums heritage was confiscated and looted during the pacific war in the early 1900s, most of the artifacts are still intact and they are a must see for all tourists in Lima. It is located in Plaza Bolivar and is easily accessed by public transport means.

Pottery, paintings and pre Columbian artifacts don the museum. There are also other great museums to see in Lima but this one is the most remarkable because it is the largest, and it is also state owned meaning that its collection is bigger. A visit to the museum will show you what the early Inca life was like.
